Technical Training “GIT for Cultural Heritage” in Valencia (Spain)

The fourth face-to-face Technical Training of the project, with the main topic “GIT for Cultural Heritage (CH): data acquisition and documentation using geomatics techniques”, was held at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) from November 29th  to December 3rd , 2022. The technical training, part of task 3.3-Deliver of GIT training courses, was divided into 3 topics and conducted by UPV teachers:

  1. “Ground-penetrating Radar (GPR) in CH: concepts, applications and in situ data collection in the Patio de los Silos de Burjassot (Valencia)”, by Dr. Francisco García;
  2. “Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) in CH: in situ data collection in the Patio de los Silos de Burjassot (Valencia), data processing and 3D reconstruction”, by Dr. Fernando Buchón;
  3. “Multiband techniques for CH documentation: concepts and image processing”, by Dr. José Luis Lerma.

In addition, UPV researchers Julia & Denys Gorkovchuk presented some applications on the use of Geoinformation tools for Cultural Heritage documentation in Ukraine.

A total of 30 participants attended the trainings: 6 teachers and technicians from NUACA, 4 from ANAU, 7 from KSTU, 3 from YSU, 3 from MESCS and 3 from OshTU, and 2 persons each from CCRA and Goscartography.
